to blacken they use liver of sulfur is that what you meant jewelers supplies normaly stock it might have different name in the states and you can use iodine on 18 or less k on gold to antique

I don't know if this thread is "stale", but Steve223, you might try Griffith Silver Black. It works a little differenty than Liver of Sulfer and a different shade of black-grey. Another product you might try for a different look is Casey's gun blueing paste. You warm the piece (not hot) and slather the stuff on. It gives a nice warm brown-black color.

Hey aflaaak i got some of the griffiths sliver black about a month ago...and i like it a bunch not messy and dosent stink near as bad lol.

Glad it's working for you. Never cared for L of S stinking up the shop, plus you have to keep the supply of chunks from air, the mixing, bla, bla, bla.
