I don't have a lot of knowledge of GS Garcia bits but it should have his name in it. Usually on the inside of the cheek piece.

I don't know what to make of this bit. The steel looks old but the silver looks brand new. I suspect it's an old bit with new silver. Nice work though.

I think your right Idilworth. Old silver couldn't be cleaned that well and still keep the crisp engraving. The bottom of the bit seems to show some wear on the inlayed stripes, but the silver looks new.

Well if it is new silver who ever did the work did a great job with the old style engraving.

There is no age in the cuts wouldn't silver tarnish if it was lift in a box for years or would it be that bright if the iron was rusted?

I am pretty sure I replaced those conchos about 15-18 years ago. My memory is that it was a G.S. Garcia engraved by Guiterrez (sp)? If it is the same bit the only thing that was changed was the conchos, the rest was original. One concho was beat up real bad and the other one was missing.
