The second annual Great Basin Cowboy Trappings Gear Show and Sale Will bee held in Elko ,Nev during the 2008 Poetry gathering.Please Contact Paula Wright at Capriola's in Elko for more information and entry forms.This is a juried show and will be a good one to get involved with.

That there is a cash prize for first,second and third places in each category?!!500.00 total for each categoy is split three ways ,and the entry fee is only 50.00 per item in the show.All items that are entered in the show must be for sale anda small commision is required at the time of the sale.This is not an auction sale,you set the price and perspective buyers put their name in a box and whom ever gets their name drawn first gets first crack at buying it.they have 20 minutes to pay for the item befor it goes to the next buyer.

you guys better bring your "A" game Cause I might enter the bit catagory and the silversmith catagory as well,not to mention there will be some other very stiff competition.If you can come,hope to see you there and if you can't,hope to see what you send do well.

LOL Dave my A game may stack up to your worst day,Mabey... lol,But i think it would be good experince and a good crtique. I have no elusions about my skill or lack of, but i am workin hard trying to get better!

When is the cutoff date for the show? Is it a gear show, meaning do they have leather catagorys as well? I have saddle maker friend that might be interested as well.

Yes there is a catagory for saddle makers as well as bitmakers and spur makers and rawhide braider and silversmiths too.I am not sure they aren't lettinh in hair twisters as well.
