Hey Jim
Nice job on every thing. The only thing I see wrong is they don't have my brand of the concho's. Keep up the good work, I.ll PM you about some other questions. _________________ Norm Harris, Jr.

Jim,
Real nice job. If they are a Crhistmas present there will be one happy cowboy in a few days. I like your straps also they really complete the set. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thank you both very much. They are actually a pair of womens spurs, and they are a Christmas gift . Norm, to answer your PM question, the silver is 22 ga., and I solder it down with silver brite solder. I clamp it with spring clamps while I solder it down On this pair I tapered the edge after I put on the overlay to make it look like an inlay.

Would it be out of line to ask what you think these spurs are worth? I never am comfortable with my pricing. I want to make what my time is worth, but also I don't want to price myself out of work. If it is not out of line, I would be interested in knowing what you think they are worth.

Jim,
A greeter at Wal Mart makes around $9 an hour with no investment. A maker has to take into account all the expences of doing business [ materials, insurance, lights, heat, etc.] and add that to the hourly rate you want to make. Be realistic about what you want to make and then add a little more for a cushion so you don't lose any money on the deal.
Don't worry about pricing yourself out of work. If your prices are to high you can always come down but if they are to low it's hard to raise them and you will end up losing money on each project until you can't keep making spurs and have to get a greeter job. Also you can't always go by what another maker is getting for his work because he may just be doing it for the fun of it and not trying to make a living at it or he may have alot of demand for his work and can get extra money for the name he stamps on his work.
