Hi everyone. I just joined the forum and I am impressed wih what I have seen. I have been scratch metal off and on since 1959 but I still consider myself an ameture. I do have a question and tha is does anyone know of an adjustable jig for bending money clips? Thank you all very much and God bless. Lefty

Lefty,
Welcome to the forum. I can't help you with the jig though. I just use a round rod and a mallet and go at it. Maybe someone else will have a better system.

Hi Lefty, great to have you join the group, the people and knowledge in here is amazing! I don't know where the post is but someone made a bender for their spur hinges you could adapt for money clips. Basically it was a hinged affair like an open book with a staple type bar on the bottom hinged part. Your flat money clip would slide underneath the bar in the middle (or just shy of) and you'd swing the other top part of the hinged template like closing a book and that would bend the silver over in half. Just make a stop piece (like a thin piece of metal welded to one of the plates) so that when you close it it doesn't close all the way. Heck, you could just solder down a quarter or two. Maybe even weld or solder a little piece of say 16 gauge steel at the end of the bottom plate where your money clip silver piece would end, so that it doesn't slde as you close the hinged "book". I'm probably not describing the idea too well but hopefully it gives you some ideas at any rate. Post some work if you can and keep coming back-welcome to the group.

Was looking in a catalog and found this. http://www.micromark.com/DELUXE-BENDING ... ,8226.html
A person could make one pretty easy or at least something similar. I use my vise for a lot of stuff it wasn't designed for.
