Some bright cut

Here's a few things I bright cut for the heck of it, a hoof pick in steel and some nickel buckles. Sam Alfano's trick of using flat black rustoleum paint rubbed into engraivng really picks up the detail.

Paul...again, nice stuff. It's funny but I've had a picture of your hoof pick for some time.. I copied it from somewhere?
I been using it for study! The buckles now reside there.

It may already be posted somewhere, but...

When you are bright cutting the steel, what sort of flat graver are you using as far as composition?
I guess it would probably make a difference as to stroke setting also?

They look nice to me.

Howdy JB, I use a 45 flat, the new kind from GRS that's called a CX I think. I had it at 45 degrees but for steel you really should have it at 50 degrees for a face, and a 20 degree belly as for bright cutting can't be beat. Hope this helps :-)
