Rasp Spurs

This my first attempt to make a pair of spurs using rasp and I think that they came out ok. I have stamped the inside of the shank with my mark. Being that there was no other place to put it. What's your thoughts.

Hey, those are nice, I've been impressed with the rowels you use, do make them yourself? The shanks are very slick looking and nicely polished, different than most rasp spurs I've seen. Only thing I see, is the side of the file looks to not have been ground down, will that tear up the heel counters on a pair of boots?

Thanks for the info guys, i see where i need to grind down more, I make my own rowels but I don't mind using factory or any other kind of rowel. I will do what ever makes the buyer happy. To me it just has to have that handmade look, I don't ever want to make spurs that look like they came off the shelf.

Baquero

Make sure that you heat them up and untemper them. I had attempted it before and was unsuccesfull. I had almost threw these into the garabage a couple of times, good thing I have some patients!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering if anyone has tried to overlay on rasp, and how do you do it?
