this is a test to see if the pics will show up. i made both pair the blueed pair was the first pair and the polished ones are the second pair. both are steel , the blued ones were patterned after a pair of crocketts i had and the polished ones are my design. i know the pics aren't very good but it was the best i could do and me and the wife like to never figgered out how to do this. the spurs arent near the quality of most of the makers on here but i thought they were okay for a first and second effort.
let me know what ya think

howdy mr cunningham
the rowels are something i came up with, i just wanted something different than plain points and clovers. i drew up a bunch of different ones that i thought would work and tried them . the one thing about this rowel if a guy was of a mind to lock them down all ya got to do is put another pin in the shanks . my wife took these pics and the camera we have aint very good so ya really cant see the engraving very good , sorry about that.
have a good one

Looks like you have a good start on the steel engraving. You are also doing
some file work. The designs are different and everyone is looking for
different. Keep going.

Sure look good to me. I really like the rowels on that one pair. The shanks are really cool-a pattern like that lends itself to lots of different ways they could be finished(different overlays, engraving, file work, etc.) without having to start from scratch every time-it's sometimes tough to come up with something unique, but still functional(which these sure appear to be)-your steel engraving looks good (whats visible!-real tough to get good pics on shiny stuff!)

ps Knives look great too!

gentlemen
i thank you for the kind words and support. these spurs were made from 1 1/4" cold roll strap and a chunk of some unkown grade of 7/16 plate , and the rowels were cut from cold roll ,they are 2 3/8 " in dia. the spurs are pretty light because i had tried to solder some brass on to the heel and shanks but couldn't seem to get it right. so the heel were repolished which made them thinner than normal , which isn't a good thing
but it does make them lighter.
again thank you for your support
